Pompei, Sorrento and Capri Island
This day excursion is designed for those who wish to enjoy the highlights of SORRENTO, the archaeological site of POMPEII and the ISLAND OF CAPRI. We greet you at the Port of Naples and make our way to the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii. We spend the duration of the morning exploring this fascinating site, covered in ash in 79AD by Mount Vesuvius. We highly recommend hiring a guide, but you are welcome to explore on your own, too. Next stop is the picturesque coastal village of Sorrento, where you can enjoy lunch in a typical trattoria that features fresh ingredients, local specialties, and some of the best pizza in Italy. After lunch, we head to Sorrento port to hop on the hydrofoil for the 30-minute ride to Capri, known for its beautiful scenery, fabulous shopping, and open-aired taxis. We leave you here after helping you purchase your tickets for the 30-minute boat ride to Capri and, if possible, for the return ticket for the 5pm boat to Naples. The hydrofoil will dock near your cruise ship in Naples. Hydrofoil tickets and optional lunch are not included in the price.
